Aspen

Quaking aspen trees (Populus tremuloides), with their golden-yellow fall foliage, are perhaps the dominant fall foliage tree of western North America. The origin of the name, "quaking" lies in the fact that the foliage of aspens shimmers or "quakes" when there is a breeze.

Chitalpa, Pink Dawn
Chitalpa is a fast growing deciduous tree and has an open branching structure.  It casts a dappled shade and is heat loving.  The flowers  are pink, white or lavender and blooms all summer long.  Chitalpa can with stand strong winds.

Cottonwood, Santa Fe
Cottonwood is a rapid growing tree and becomes very large with age.  Tree form is upright spreading with an oval to rounded crown.  The glossy medium green leaves are
3 to 5" long and equally wide.  The fall color is yellow.

Hackberry, Netleaf
It is a small tree that can stand severe droughts, low fertility, and wide temperature ranges. Its leaves are thicker than other hackberries, with conspicuous netlike veins on the lower surface; the upper surface feels like sandpaper.

Honey Locust, Golden

This a very popular tree noted for the new foliage, which emerges with a bright gold hue before fading to green. As the foliage ages it turns green, but the tips of the growing branches are yellow.

Honey Locust, Shademaster

 
This fast growing deciduous tree has medium green leaves that turn yellow for great fall color.  Leaves seldom need raking because of their fine texture.  Excellent street and lawn tree because it is thornless and seedless.  Good for windbreaks and soil erosion control.

Locust, Purple Robe

These deciduous trees have leaves with 17-21 leaflets, bronze-red at first then bronze-green in summer.  Flowers are large, dark rose-pink, pea-like, very fragrant and blooms in late May to early June.

Maple, Autumn Blaze

This is an excellent selection for fall color, structure, cold hardiness and fast growth.  The orange-red  color of their leaves in the fall, persists for a long time, and it is more drought tolerant than other varieties.

Maple, Norway

They turn a bright yellow in the fall, and showy clusters of small, greenish-yellow flowers appear in early spring.  Produces a dense shade which makes growing other plants beneath it difficult.

Poplar, Theves
Populus nigra 'Thevestina' Fast-growing to 60 ft. or more, attractive white bark. Columnar form, used for quick screen or windbreak.  Shimmering leaves are especially distinctive, ornamental. Uniform yellow fall color.

Sycamore, Arizona
This is a large deciduous tree.  Leaves are light green, up to 10 inches long.  The Sycamore typically blooms between March and April and produces inconspicuous  flowers which grow in dense clusters.  The bark is smooth and whitish or pale gray.  Great for Shade.

Vitex, Chaste
The Caste Tree is a beautiful little deciduous tree or large shrub with a showy summertime flower display.  Easy to grow with fragrant flowers.  Leaves have medicinal use and seeds can be used for seasoning.

Walnut, Arizona
A decidious tree growing to 15m at a fast rate. It is hardy to zone 9. It is in flower from May to June, and the seeds ripen from October to December. The flowers are monoecious (individual flowers are either male or female, but both sexes can be found on the same plant) and are pollinated by Wind. The plant is self-fertile.

Willow, Coyote

Very beautiful erect form with slender grayish-green branches clothed with long, narrow, finely-toothed, silky silver leaves which quiver in the breeze.  Small pale yellow catkins appear with the leaves.  Needs moisture to get established, then will tolerate dry conditions.

Willow, Desert

Desert Willow is a small deciduous tree.  It has long narrow leaves.  It’s flowers occur in showy clusters at the tips of the branches and on new wood, occurring from late spring to fall.  They are trumpet shaped and sweetly fragrant.

Willow, Globe

The main ornamental feature of this deciduous tree is the contorted and twisted branches and twigs.  The winter branch pattern is most interesting.  Also known as the Corkscrew Willow is fast growing with narrow light green leaves.

Willow, Weeping

The weeping willow tree is not only unique in it's appearance, but it is unique in it's meaning as well. The weeping willow is probably the most symbolic of all trees in the world. The willow is usually looked upon with a vision of sadness and grief, but sitting under the willow can be seen as protection and comfort.
